The Children’s
Gasparilla Parade has been a part of Tampa’s Gasparilla
celebration since 1947. The Children’s Gasparilla Parade
(produced by the City of Tampa’s Recreation Department
prior to 2002) takes place along beautiful Bayshore Boulevard
and uses part of the same route as the Gasparilla Parade of
the Pirates.
In 2009, the Children’s Gasparilla Parade will begin
at Bay to Bay Blvd. & Bayshore Blvd., proceed north along
Bayshore, and end at Watrous/Orleans Aves. & Bayshore
(approx. 1.4 miles).
In 2006, the Children’s Gasparilla Parade included
over 100 units, including krewes, marching bands, dance units,
primary and secondary school organizations, community organizations
as well as local neighborhood associations. The parade
application process is open to the public and the application
can be downloaded on the Parade
Application page.
